I’m not there (2007)
“People tell me it’s a sin / To know and feel too much within.”
Bob Dylan hardly needs an introduction. A key figure in american music, with a career spanning moret han half a decade, Bob Dylan has become a living myth; an elusive figure who in many ways has become the embodiment of Americana itself.
The life and times of such a man could never be captured properly in a conventional biopic. Instead, Haynes opted to adapt many of Dylans’ personae into ananthology-esque film, capturing as many sides of the man as best as could possibly be done in the feature-format, and instead of trying fruitlessly to deconstruct Dylan’s mythos, Haynes embroiderers it.
